Air Conditioning

Air conditioning installation, servicing and fault finding

VOLK BÂTIMENT works on air conditioning installations for houses, flats, shops, offices and business premises. From assessing your needs through to commissioning, we can handle a new installation, a replacement, maintenance or fault-finding.

Systems

Which system suits your needs?

Single-split indoor air conditioning unit installed in a room

Single-split air conditioning

An indoor unit connected to an outdoor unit, mainly used to cool a single room or zone. Sizing needs to account for floor area, exposure and how the room is actually used.

Multi-split outdoor unit fixed to a facade

Multi-split air conditioning

A single outdoor unit can supply several indoor units. This solution suits situations where several rooms need treating while limiting the number of outdoor units.

Indoor VRV unit in a technical room

VRV / VRF

VRV / VRF systems suit configurations with many zones to treat, particularly in some business premises. Designing them requires close attention to the refrigerant network and the needs of each space.

Connection trench for an air conditioning installation

An installation is more than fixing two units in place

Equipment positioning, pipe runs, condensate drainage, access for maintenance and commissioning all directly affect how the installation performs and how well it integrates with the building. The goal is a system suited to the building, cleanly fitted and easy to maintain.

Air conditioning for businesses

Shops, offices and business premises can have different constraints from a home: extended occupancy, several zones, significant heat gains, opening hours, or the need to limit disruption to business. Choosing the right system needs to factor these in from the design stage.

Checking pressures with a gauge during commissioning

Faults and loss of performance

A system that cools less effectively, makes an unusual noise, shows a fault, or is no longer suited to the space may need a diagnosis before assuming the complete system needs to be replaced. Depending on the issue, servicing, a repair, or replacing all or part of the installation may be the right approach. Find out more about servicing an air conditioning system.

Renovation

Air conditioning during renovation

If air conditioning is planned as part of a renovation, pipe routes and condensate drainage should be considered before ceilings, wall linings and paint are finished. This work can be coordinated with an interior renovation and with ventilation around the installation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Single-split or multi-split: how do I choose?

It depends on how many rooms need treating and whether you can install one or several outdoor units. A single-split suits one zone; a multi-split suits several rooms served from a single outdoor unit. Our article on choosing between single-split and multi-split covers this in more detail.

Can a reversible air conditioner provide heating?

Yes, a reversible system can produce both heating and cooling. Its sizing still needs to account for heating needs as much as cooling.

Do you service existing installations?

Yes, we carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on installations already in place, including ones we didn't originally fit.

Do you work in shops and offices?

Yes, we carry out installations and maintenance work in business premises, with particular attention to operating constraints.

Can an old air conditioner be replaced?

Yes, we can assess replacing an existing installation, particularly when it becomes noisy, less efficient, or no longer suited to the building.
